Six Day Countdown!

There are only six days left until The Pink Bee opens! Some of you may remember these snowman ornaments from last year. They were a big hit and sold out quickly, but we were able to get some more in for this year. We've got them in three different colors.

Who Needs Technology?

Wednesday night I decided to update The Pink Bee's website. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, if you've tried to look at the website you'll see it wasn't quite so easy. I somehow managed to lose all the pictures on the home page and have completely lost the other two pages. Hopefully it will be fixed this weekend.
I also started a Facebook page for The Pink Bee, which for some reason took me an hour and a half to figure out. I'm still not sure it's done correctly because when I search for The Pink Bee on Facebook it doesn't pull it up. The profile picture is our logo, the bee with the laurel wreath. I guess I'm still a work in progress!
I was in Clarksville for Labor Day weekend. I went to a bridal shower/cookout for my cousin who is getting married in October and let me say I had some of the best chicken I've ever eaten! I also attended the baptism of my youngest niece. In between all of that, Haven and I were able to go through and take some pictures of the new stuff that's come in for The Pink Bee. I will be posting some pictures very soon, I promise!!

Pink Lemonade and Atlanta

As promised here is the recipe for the pink lemonade vodka drink from the Summer Solstice party:
  • 1 (12 oz) can frozen concentrated pink lemonade
  • 5 cups Sprite
  • 2 1/2 cups vodka
  • Top off with water (We filled the empty pink lemonade can up twice with water)
  • In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients and stir. Refrigerate and serve chilled.
Haven and I were in Atlanta again last weekend and we found some really exciting stuff! We can't wait for the boxes to start arriving. It's always fun to see what new and different things they have at market. I'll be sure to post some pictures when I have some.
We are planning for The Pink Bee to be open November 14th and 15th this year, and we'll have additional information soon. But for now we're enjoying the long days and warm weather of summer!

The Summer Solstice Party

I read lots of magazines and usually rip out pages with ideas of things I'd like to have/do. Sometime last year I found a great idea in the Real Simple magazine about throwing a Summer Solstice party. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, so it sounded like the perfect time to have people over. So, this year I threw a Summer Solstice party of my own. It gave me an excuse to hang paper lanterns in my yard, which made it a success in my book!

I decided to take the dining room table outside too, so we'd have plenty of room to sit! Although you can't see it from the picture the lanterns were hung on both sides of the patio. I'll have to post the recipe for the pink lemonade/vodka concoction we had to drink, it was really good!

It's Been Too Long!

It's been a long time since I made a post! I didn't mean to ignore the blog for this long. Haven and I went on a whirlwind trip to Atlanta in May and found some really cute stuff. We'll be going back in July so I'll have more of an update for you after we get back from that trip!

(That's picture I took out the window of our hotel room, before we changed rooms because of the loud man in the room beside ours!)

We were in Atlanta for Cinco De Mayo so we had to walk to a Mexican restaurant downtown for lunch before heading home. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to the next trip. In the meantime it's hard to believe that summer is here. My husband and I went the The Farmer's Market here in Charlotte this past weekend and got lots of good stuff, including the best garlic cheese biscuits I've ever had and a wonderful peanut butter cookie! And yes, we also got some fruit and vegetables while we were there. My goal is to do a better job of updating this blog and I have some new pictures I want to put on the website, so hopefully you will be hearing from me again soon!
